...on an angst-driven evening in january 2011, multi-instrumentalist dirk verbeuren (aborted, scarve, soilwork) carved grindcore act bent sea out of his disembowling passion for the noise that permeated the air of his teenage years...equipped with an arsenal of furious beats and ferocious riffage, verbeuren created an assaulting army of tracks, enlisting his aborted bandmate and fellow belgian sven de caluwe to call the formations...the pair were then joined by none other than devin townsend on bass...a musical homage to the founding fathers of grindcore and noise, such as napalm death, repulsion and terrorizer, bent sea is also a tribute to today's vibrant scene and countless amazing bands that push the envelope and/or keep the tradition alive...the works of godflesh, black lung, scorn, endvra and other non-grindcore acts being a definite source of inspiration as well...lyrically, bent sea addresses human and social issues, although it must be said that the music precedes the message..."we're not here to preach", says verbeuren, "but we're certainly not afraid of our opinions"...bent sea will self-release their music...the band's debut 11 song ep noistalgia, produced by devin townsend, was released digitally on 11/11/11...a limited vinyl version will be released in early 2012.

Live DVD box set news! Yes, that's right, yet another pretty box set will see the light of day soon... You may remember that we've recorded last year's sold out shows in London where the DTP performed each of their albums in full (and then some) and we can now announce that the release has been dubbed 'By A Thread - Live in London 2011' and will be out June 18th in Europe and June 19th in North America.
Four DVD discs will hold the each of the concerts including a shitload of extras and five CD's will have all the audio with a separate CD for just the encores that were played.
More details on exact content and where to pre-order this beauty will be announced soon.
